According to Deadline, Ashley will be co-starring in the upcoming movie ‘Left Behind’ alongside Nicolas Cage:
Ashley Tisdale has signed up for Left Behind, which is being toplined by Nicolas Cage. The actress, who stars in the upcoming Scary Movie 5, will play Chloe Steele, the daughter of Cage’s Ray Steele character. After millions of people suddenly disappear from Earth, Chloe wanders America looking to find any remaining members of her family.
The project will be based on the 16 novel series of the same name, which were released between 1995 and 2007. The books, by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, tell the stories of individuals during the end of the world and were at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list when originally released. Also slated to be in talks is Chad Michael Murray who would play the role of the journalist in the films.

Yesss! I was waiting for a film like this for Ashley! Hopefully this and Scary Movie will help her break out of her Sharpay image a little more since that’s what everyone knows her from. Chad Michael Murray? So cool!
This is the most significant activity showcasing Ashley’s desire to do film work, so I’m thrilled! Although I believe there’s still a place for her on television, I’m excited to see how audiences liken to her in meatier motion picture roles.
If I’m being honest, there’s worry about Nic Cage’s involvement. I know he’s had recent (ish) major success with the ‘National Treasure’ movie franchise, but outside of those films his latest film endeavors have virtually been duds. He’s a fine actor (one of my favorite films is ‘The Family Man’), but I am weary of his track history and label of being box office poison.
Btw is this a theatrical film or DVD or television one ?
It sounds like a theatrical film but it wont be announced until later into pre-production!
